Waipapa Taumata Rau
Designed to transition you into University life, the Waipapa Taumata Rau course is a new, compulsary course for first-year UoA students, outlining the history and context of te Tiriti o Waitangi, and how it impacts current-day, and the future of Aotearoa.
With the guidance of a group of Auckland Uni faculty members, I created a total of seven illustrations for the short modules, which illustrated topics such as the arrival of Europeans, the signing of te Tiriti, Tangata Tiriti, Systems of Mātauranga, and global impacts of te Tiriti. Throughout the process a great deal of care was taken to ensure that images were historically and culturally accurate. Ngā mihi nui tomembers of Ngāti Whatua o Ōrakei, for their guidance in crafting the hero image.
